EPISODE 1 - MID WINTER BULL TAHR

New Zealand is the only place in the world where you can hunt the majestic Himalayan Tahr, but it’s much easier said than done!
Ice axes, crampons, and an ability to withstand freezing temperatures are all necessary for anyone looking to claim a trophy bull in full Winter coat.
In this episode, Dan & Sam head deep into the Southern Alps to show viewers the skill, dedication and effort required to successfully bring home the bacon.

EPISODE 2 - STEWART ISLAND ADVENTURE
LOCATION - Stewart Island

The famed Whitetail or ‘Grey Ghosts’ of Stewart Island are an extremely elusive deer, one that requires skill, stealth and a lot of patience to successfully hunt.
In this episode, we spend a week on ‘Rakiura’, capturing the minutiae of island life on this slice of untouched paradise at the bottom of New Zealand, and put in some incredibly long hours in the treestand in an attempt to nab an elusive whitetail buck on bow.

EPISODE 3 – OPENING WEEKEND

The first weekend in May signals the start of the Duck Shooting season in New Zealand. This momentous occassion is an absolute religion in the deep South.
In this episode, we head to the mecca of the sport, Mossburn, to take in the colour and excitement of this quintessentially Kiwi event, and bag some stunning footage in the process.

EPISODE 4 - LATE WINTER SIKA DEER
LOCATION – North Island Central Plateau
HUNTERS - Andre Alipate & Julian Danby
Sika Deer are the jewel of NZ’s North Island, and are regarded as providing some of the best eating venison of all the deer species. With a reputation as being one of the most cunning of all deer species, their unique behaviour makes them a prized quarry amongst hunters.
In this episode, we set out in late winter to target a few good eating animals for the barbecue season ahead. With the stags still in hard antler, the team are looking to capitalise early on the change in season which generally sees Sika migrate out of the bush and into more open spring feeding grounds.

The heat of Summer months in Central Otago is usually is enough to keep even the keenest hunters off the hill, but not us.
After a huge Red Stag is spotted on a mid January reconnaissance trip, the lads return 3 weeks later in the hope of a return visit, and also in the hope that the big 12 pointer will have begun to strip his velvet to reveal the prized antler beneath.

Canada Geese are held in extremely high regard internationally as the king of all game birds, however, here in New Zealand they have recently been reclassified from game species to pest, mainly due to their overabundance and their destruction of farmland.
In this episode, we head to the famous Molesworth Station, New Zealand’s largest working farm, to lend a hand in reducing numbers, and have a lot of fun in the process.

After seeing in the New Year in Queenstown, the lads hit the road for majestic Mount Cook National Park, home of NZ’s largest mountain, to the exact same spot where 12 months earlier a gigantic bull tahr managed to give them the slip.
This time around, they’re committed to finding the big boy and will leave no stone unturned in their search. This episode provdes viewers with a great insight into the mindset and dedication required to earn a true trophy.

Helicopters, white water rafting, jet boats, fly fishing, eeling and hunting spring red deer on the flats, this episode has a bit of everything!
We’re joined by Josh James Marcotte - AKA the Kiwi Bushman - on a colourful expedition in deepest darkest Westland. After a slow start, the pressure is on the team to deliver the goods - or face the embarrassing prospect of going home wet, cold and empty handed!

EPISODE 9 – CHAMOIS DOUBLE WHAMMY

We are joined this week by Emma, the newly married wife of one of our regular hunters Dan.
We set out to bag Emma her first ever chamois buck, however, this roller coaster mission proves much harder than anticipated as the team bounce from the snowbound Southern Alps in the depths of winter to the scorched mountains of Central Otago before finding their prize.
A great lesson in endurance and determination!

EPISODE 10 - FIORDLAND ADVENTURE (HOUR LONG SPECIAL)
LOCATION - Fiordland
HUNTERS - Brent McConnell, Roy Sloan, Kieran Andrews and Series Producer Dave Shaw
In this special double episode, the team head into Fiordland for the ‘Bugle’, the time of year when the prized Wapiti, the largest and most majestic of all deer species, are in full voice.
Wapiti are the holy grail of NZ hunting, but the country they inhabit has a reputation for breaking even the hardiest of hunters, with incredibly dense, steep mountains and highly unpredictable weather.
This expedition therefore becomes a true test of endurance and spirit - 10 days in New Zealand’s most inhospitable yet beautiful wilderness region, in search of the ultimate prize.

EPISODE 10 - WINTER BULL TAHR EPIC

In the climactic hourlong series finale, the team venture into the remote Southern Alps as part of the annual Tahr Ballot, in the midst of one of the most severe cold snaps in New Zealand’s history. Their aim - to topple a trophy Bull Tahr in full winter coat.
SEASON THREE

We kick things off with a concurrent Red Stag roar hunt which sees Dan and Anto head into a South Island ballot block, whilst Tim and Sam venture into remote South Westland. Whilst early proceedings force one team to make a dramatic change, there is certainly no shortage of stag encounters.
